We'll Be Right Back After This Word...
Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 7:26PM We’re experiencing some minor technical difficulties here at Wrath66.
In the meantime, please enjoy this 1986 track from the highly influential (on me at least) cut-and-paste producer Steinski (and Mass Media) a seminal figure in sample-heavy hip-hop production. It’s also worth noting that Steinski (Steve Stein) was an advertising copy writer for DDB way back in the day – something that was not lost on me and seems to have proved nearly as influential on me as his music.
If you want to check out more, I’d start with his surprisingly evocative piece about JFKs assassination, The Motorcade Sped On. And if you still want more, I’d visit his blog and/or pick up the awesome retrospective, What Does It All Mean?, released last year by Illegal Art (home of the phenomenal mashup artist, Girl Talk).
I’ll be back with the third panel of the Nothing Triptych on Friday.
